Tanvi Bhakta

today in burning tokens to take care of dumb bullshit that significantly improves my life:

There’s two ways links open in apps - a Custom Tab which is implemented by the browser itself, and a WebView which is controlled by the app using the OS’s native browser implementation[^1]. I dislike both, because I want all links to open in places I have total control on them. Android has a default “open links in browser” setting that seems to change nothing, because most apps these days implement Custom Tabs. SO I got the llm to list top 20 apps I use, individually figure out where the settings to turn off the feature in each one is, and then do it.

Other things I’m in the progress of:
- install piko twt
- install piko instagram
- another round of mobile browser tab pruning

[^1]: android engineers more in the know, please correct me on this.
